Dreiling breaks new ground in the competition for trainees
In September 2024, four young Vietnamese people will begin their training at Dreiling Maschinenbau GmbH.
The situation on the training market remains tense. Fewer and fewer companies are finding enough trainees. The main reason for this is demographic change, while many young people also prefer to study. Dreiling Maschinenbau GmbH is also facing these challenges in its search for new trainees. However, the company is now exploring new avenues to attract suitable young talent.
These paths led Managing Director Sven Dreiling and Sales Manager Jens Wüstemann to Vietnam in November 2023. During their week-long delegation trip, they met four young Vietnamese people who will begin their training at Dreiling Maschinenbau GmbH in Geisleden from September 2024.
Back in September 2016, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Southern Thuringia initiated a pilot project together with the Chamber of Skilled Crafts of Southern Thuringia to attract young Vietnamese people to dual vocational training in Thuringia. Thanks to this project, a total of 162 Vietnamese young people have already been trained in six seasons between 2017 and 2022 and integrated in southern Thuringia.
Four more trainees will now take their first professional steps in Geisleden this year.
The German Competence Academy in Hanoi, which Sven Dreiling and Jens Wüstemann also visited, is one of the institutions preparing them for their time in Germany. The renowned institution for study abroad advice and German language training supports young Vietnamese people who want to work and study in Germany. After getting to know each other for the first time, we can say that we are looking forward to our time together!
